Hi,

The gearbox on my sportshift is starting to give issues. Every now and then when driving in the automatic position it'll slip into the neutral position. Also when its stopped and trying to put the car in drive motion it can take a few times before it actually engages. Anyone else experienced this or any suggestions please???

thanks E

No such issues like that, luckily. Definitely sounds like a trip to the dealer will be required.

IIRC Rick said there is a learn process it needs to do on start up.
Essentially you need to leave it to idle for 20-30 secs to let it work out the bite point etc.
Might be worth a reset? Disconnect the battery for a bit.

Whilst we are talking about Sportshift. How the do yo put it in neutral with out starting the engine?

Btw, the car is always in neutral when starting the engine .. its once the engine has started and you select drive it will slip back into neutral after a couple of seconds.

Good luck with it
I'm trying to work out how to put it in neutral with out starting the engine.
The sport shift leaves it in first or reverse when you switch the engine off.
It doesn't seem to take it out until you fire up the engine.
I'm after rolling it forward in the garage with out having to start the engine for a few seconds

I cant remember how you do it off the top of my head, but the procedure for doing it is in the owners guide. It quotes a similar situation as you describe for needing to do it.

I'm failry sure you can just turn the ignition on without starting the engine and select neutral. You probably need to have the brake pedal depressed. I certainly pushed mine around in the garage without having to start it.

I can definitley select neutral without starting the engine by the normal use of the paddles.

you can select neutral by pulling both paddles at the same time,

That works when the engine is running but as you turn the ignition off it puts it in first or reverse frown

Sussed it this evening whilst cleaning it.
Press brake pedal and pull both paddles back.
