Vantage Sat Nav

I have a MY09 Vantage, the Sat Nav has partial post code matching.
So I bought Volvo DVD 31285852 which is apparently the best update for the DVD base Sat Nav
Interestingly I've never had the AM logo come up and cannot get in to the factory set up menu (back-enter-back).
It also doesn't recognise the update DVD
I'm wondering if I have the HHD Sat Nav version rather than the DVD? Anyone now how to tell?
Any one want an update DVD?
Looks like I'll be sticking to my Tom Tom

Ironically the ebay seller has decided to refund me as this "genuine" DVD does not work

All model year 2009 and newer Vantages have the hard disk based system.

That might explain why there was no DVD in the DVD drive
Having said that if it is HDD why bother with a DVD drive?

prehaps the disk drive is there to update the HDD?
