I'm in the process of purchasing my first Aston and looking at a V8V either a 2006 or 2007 model.

Does anyone have a full list of the changes made to the MY07 models versus MY06? I understand these are mostly cosmetic, so is it worth paying the extra £5-7k for the newer model? any views welcome.

thanks

pre March 06 is 1/2 price on road tax if you are bothered wink

I dont think there was much important stuff - the later armrest I actually dislike

If I was buying again, Id probably go for pre March 06 high spec car (like I have had for the last 3.5 years) or the cheapest 4.7 i could find

i wouldnt pay a price premium for low miles or in between spec....

but thats just my logic, depends on what is important to you ....

Yep I agree, I managed to get a good deal on an early 4.7 after I went looking for a late 4.3

The 2007 model has the upgraded seats with lumbar adjustment, LED illuminated door handles, remote boot release, electric seat-back releases and side-impact airbags incorporated in the seats.

Personally once I saw the upgraded seats with coarse stitching, I only considered the MY2007 car.

I think a couple of other options were also included on the MY07 (bluetooth being the main one) IIRC.

I believe the arm rest on the 07 is the same as the 06.

you get electric lumbar, bluetooth (option), boot release on an 06 too.....

Parkers is usually pretty accurate for such detail kit differences....

I think to be honest, if your on a first time budget (I was last year), I would go for a MY06 with low (ish) miles, full AMSH, and impeccable bodywork. I think these cars are bargains. Once your in there, you will find that the options list - (seats, door handle lights, stereo etc..) although desirable, really dont stack-up much against the experience of having the car in the first place.

After that, the next move up is the Sportspack (if available on MY06's), then the 4.7L and so on. The big differences are in the engines and sportspacks.

That's sound advice, I bought a an AMV8 earlier this year and it was an 06 with 15k and FSH in excellent condition and very well specced.

My criteria was to buy the car on condition and history.

Having looked at 07MY's as well I can't say I've noticed any issues in not having different door handles or seats, too busy driving it and biggrin every time I do drive it!

2006 MY has heated front windscreen optional which is not available on 2007 MY. Something to do with Ford having a patent on heated front windscreens.

I think the problem with buying an "in between" low mileage car is just that you dont gain much, other than a load more depreciation to come out of it when you actually use it !

It was std on mine - removed MY08 I think (possibly MY09), when they put the radio aerial in the screen.

Yep my early 4.7 has no heater element but three lines for aerials
