I've just bought two new rear Bridgetone Potenza's for my V8V.

Both the tyre fitter and I looked at the tyres and had the same thought - "not much tread depth".

How much would you expect?

7mm ish I guess (never measured them)

dont buy the optional Pirelli Corsa then, they are about 5mm new, and recommend to replace at 2mm ...so dont last long frown

The fitter thought they should have been 8 mm.

I've just had four new ones on mine ~6mm looks about right!
I'd change the rears at 3mm as well from experience wink

8mm is for "normal" regular car tyres so I guessed 7mm ...6mm is a bit tight frown

..thats the problem with performance car tyres I guess...no-ones going to give you tyres with 12mm deep tread blocks...

still, unless you are doing 20-30K miles a year in it, its not a big deal I guess...most owners are replacing a set of rears every 2-3 years...which about when they would have gone off anyway

The V8V is a 2006 vehicle and has almost 20k on the clock, so not bad wear and tear I guess.

When I asked the tyre place I am sure they said 8mm on these.

And IME they run fine very close to the legal limit.
