Flat battery today. My fault, left it for a whole week without driving. AA re-started and now mirrors don't fold, passenger window won't go down and the speedo talks to me in French (why do they make the default setting km/h ?)

Anyway, the manual helpfully tells me the fusebox for the passenger door module is in the passenger footwell. Trouble is, in a 500 page manual they don't actually tell you where, and after half an hour searching in what is after all not a very big space I can't find it.

Can someone please direct me to it ?

It's under the footwell mat right where your feet would rest.

And is secured by cap head bolts (I think they may be Torx too. Either that or hex head).

The speedo change to mph is in the manual, although I can't remember where. Some combination of T1, T2, etc I seem to recall!

I seem to recall that the setting for auto mirror folding is lost when the battery is off, and needs to go back to the dealer ... although I could be mistaken.

As for the window, not really sure. They may well need resettin,, athough the symptoms are different. Take a look at the FAQs on Rick's site to see it that helps ( http://www.derbymotorservices.com/faq/categories/A...)

Thanks for prompt response, guys. I had seen that aluminium plate with all the screws but couldn not bring myself to unscrew them all because it seemed somewhat unlikely that the fuse box would be locked into what looked like a high security safe.

Tried the window reset but basically there is no response at all from the passenger window, and it doesn't move at all when you open or close the door.

What the hell it's driveable and I've put all the carpets back in now, so reckon I'll stop by the dealer and have them do the mirrors and the window at the same time.

Is it likely to just be the fuse, or could the flat battery have messed up a relay ? I'm presuming that the 'passenger door module' fuse is the one for the window ?

Have it checked properly as it seems unlike that it should loose its power completely after only a week standstill. I left my V12 Vantage for 3 weeks this winter without any problems despite it having a tracker sipping electricity all the time. Now I mostly attach the trickle charger if not used for more than say 10 days.

Hi,i recently had the same problem, but after a trip to the garage i was told that all they did was disconnect the battery and reconnect. Then reset the windows as per manual.

Turned out door module had failed. Had new one put in (£500) but to be honest could not figure why this would kill the entire car in a week. Need a car I can drive, leave, get back in whenever and rely on, so sadly I've reached the time to draw a line under AM ownership for now. On balance I've had a smile on my face somewhat more than I've been muttering under my breath for the past 3 years.

Must confess there was a pang of regret as I walked away, but as the saying goes Never say Never.

Anyway, off to Merc to get a relia-box. Unexciting, but practical.

From what I've heard, apart from the "unexciting" bit you'll have to keep your fingers crossed on the rest with Merc these days.

Good luck though smile

Was the door module the only failure you've had?

Flat battery a couple of times, rest was just niggles really - phone and stereo probs, rattles, squeaks. No particular issue but cumulatively it just detracted from the enjoyment.
