V12V: Metallic noise every few seconds

I have 1500 miles done so far with my V12.

Recently it started to make a metallic noise every few seconds, say 10-20 seconds, while driving. But only if a gear is engaged. If I'm rolling downhills with no gear engaged, the noise disappears. It seems to come from the front. It's not loud, just a short metallic "zzzzzzzipp".

Any thoughts ?

Mine makes a small squirky noise when I start in 1st gear but I heard here on the Board that there is a service bulletin out for that . But it is only intermittent and only happens when you start in first gear easing the clutch so it can't be the same issue.

I had a metallic noise in my Porsche which drove me craisy. It turned out to be a loose tyre pressure sensor that was floating around inside the rear tyre.

Martin - hope you get it diagnosed soon! Abit O/T but noticed you are in Switzerland. Whilst at the factory last week there were FOUR orange DB9/S's on the production line bound for a customer in Switzerland!
