For what I paid for it 16 months ago.

I have decided that the DB9 is the car I want to keep for a long time but not an 06 DB9 it needs to be the fully completed version of the DB9 the DBS if its going to stay with me for a long while (possibly for ever)

So I decided to flog mine at the top of the game and it went quite easily and uneventfully, for info the real interest came when the autotrader magazine came out prior to that their was interest but not a follw through.

I cant afford a DBS Volante as yet so two things will happen, one I will put aside more cash to buy one and two they will get a bit cheaper as some find their way onto the used market - i expect to have one next summer

In the mean time I needed a V8 cabrio with character and a bit of occasion that wouldnt cost me much (!) nor lose much.

The new garage queen is below.

Congrats on selling the car.

And good luck with the Maser!

Did you consider a V8VR? I assume these are 2x the price of the Maser though...

best of luck with the Maser. I'm sure the buyer of yours will be extremely happy.

Not sure he'll keep up with your cleaning regime however!

Maser is a 23000 mile and £20k car, a V8V is 3 times the price and would lose money where I dont see the Masser losing that much.

Its a cambio corsa with the essential Larini cats (£2.5k) and full spec inc a decent 6 month warranty - bargain methinks !!

someone has got themselves a pearler there ds, i bet you were sad to see it go.for the sake of 12 months wouldn't it have been easier to keep it?then again,as nice as the maser is,you are going to enjoy the dbs even more when you get one!

Hi Dave ....sorry to hear the AM gone but interested to see your new purchase.....I had the same car in the same colour a few years back but mine was a manual.....the Maser is a great car, one bit of advise is get your gear changes right with the CC box as they tend to burn clutches out (2k for replacment).....enjoy

Tuscaneer - They have got a great car but it was top money coming in, if I hadnt bought grill, wheels and calipers then near 18 months of ownership including depreciation would have stood me £1k plus £1300 warranty - the best value motoring I have ever had on anything.

Mike - Its had a full inspection and its got 75% clutch life at my useage rate of 3k ish pa it will be ok (!) it sounds lovely and may scratch the itch for a year whilst Im saving up for utopia.

I sold my V8VR back to an AM dealer at the weekend.I bought it 11 months ago from my brother in law and only did 1000 miles in the time I owned it so it was a bit of a waste me having it really.I lost £2500 plus a £750 service so not a disaster in the big scheme of things

Im in the motor trade myself so Ive got some handy contacts for buying/selling.The AM dealer in question gave me a very good price for the car(theyve probably got a customer for it) and I dont have to suffer timewasters, test pilots, bidders, champagne drinkers with lemonade pockets etc!
