Hey all, It was a nice day yesterday and instead of me detailing my customers cars in birmingham ,I did my own DB9 apart from the wheels..Which im doing today.. Want to take them off and polish them up..This is how im getting on

I first started with a wash 2 bucket method.. NXT Megs..

Then conditioned and protected the roof.

Dried then Menzerna..Polished car with Rotary to get out all the evil swirls and minor scratches.. There were a few heavy scratches.. Used 2000 Grit paper.. and sorted those out..

Lime Primed.

Then applied autoglym.. To tidy everything up..

Applied a nice wax dodo juice purple twice... Now it has that wet look...

Took me 7 hours so far

I have detailed quite alot of astons and all of them get swirled real quick. The paint is not the best in the world..I tend to apply more than 1 layer of wax to try and stop permanent swirling.. so far so good..

Wow thats looks absolutley fantastic. Nice job. Im looking at getting a DB9 soon and would love mine to look as good as yours....maybe once I have mine (I want black also with those very wheels) you could give me some advice on how to get that look.

Cheers

Good job on a black car!
Out of interest how would you clean the cream cloth liner on the interior of your hood?

Hi cleaned my cloth liner with autoglym interior shampoo, Green label . Spray bottle, Spray liberally all over.. and leave it for a couple of minutes use a warm microfibre cloth and rub gently!.. Comes up really nice as new, As its a convertible sometimes the back gets a bit grubby must be due to the folding or something..

Also cleaning and maintaing the hood. Try Autoglym Cabrio Hood Cleaner and Protectant.
First Hoover Roof
Then jet wash roof gently and get hood really wet.
Apply Cabrio hood shampoo and agitate using sponge.
Jetwash off all shampoo.
Dry hood with microfibre towel. Leave for an hour or so to dry properly.
Then apply Cabrio hood protectant. (Tape some carrier bags over your windows and hold a piece of cardboard so that the cabrio protectant does not go all over the car as this stuff goes quite hard) Does come off with some elbow grease. Or protect hood before polishing and washing car.

The hood beads water like its brand new.

Not bad but you might want to give the number plate another going over. It's covered in black squiggles!
