tank cover not opening
Discussion
i take it your talking about the petrol flap? if so here goes, the v8's do suffer from this but rectification is relatively easy and is most likely covered under warranty.its either a problem with the hinge pin,or usually it turns out that the gas strut isn't strong enough and needs to be substituted with one of a higher rating, like i said possibly warranty so best to speak to your local dealer first.

Mine was fixed, under warranty, after finally remembering to mention it when the car went in for servicing recently. It seems strange not to have to open the boot and pull the emergency release any more.spatz said:
there is no gas strut just a a bended piece of metal that works as a spring, but this is not really the problem, more likely the release pin that is not retracting full travel because of too high friction, maybe I have to minimize the spring force
thanks
in which case you have a coupe, and as such there is no official 'fix' as such, other than adjustmentthanks
