vantage paint bubbling

i know from other comments on here that paint bubbling round the door handles on the vantage is a common problem and as such during my recent service i asked the guys to take a look at mine.i am waiting for a response to see if bodyshop consider it external damage or not.i am pretty sure it is not as there is no marks around the area at all.the thing that worries me is that during waxing the car the other day i have noticed a couple more bubbles but this time they are on the door itself(not just around the handle) about a third of the way up and about 8-10 inches in from the front wing.has anybody else found this and if so did the dealership put it right?i am just out of manufacturers warranty but the paint warranty is 10 years i believe??

corrosion warranty 10 years,paint warranty 3 years,they did fix a few of these problems but are getting wise to it now and have told a lot of dealers that it will not be fixed under corrosion warranty as there is no hole in bodywork.

if your lucky you might find a sympathetic dealer.

that sounds a bit dodgy! there is plainly no mark on the outside of the painted surface so i assume that there is some problem with the way the paint is bonded to the body.i'd better call the dealers,cheers fella

yeah its during the paint process just not been cleaned off properly ,little smudge of something left on bodywork

give them a bell and chase them up

i've got a call into stratstones this morning and the guy is going to ring me back re. the findings at the paintshop about my doorhandle area.told them about the recent finding of bubbling lower down the door as well.it is obviously a paint defect as the area on top of and around the bubble is totally unmarked.i will report back when i know more

when you speak to them quote corrosion and not paint defect ,you will get further .they will fob you off with 3 year paint warranty otherwise.

I had corrosion , Got stratstone to replace wings under the ten year corrosion warranty :>

Another one here - my 07 Vantage has bubbling paint around the door handles - being fixed under warranty in two weeks. Dealer (Grange Exeter) didn't argue just had to check with the factory. My question is - are there any other places where I should take a close look ?

Check the bottom of both doors my nearside had corrosion and JCT fixed under warranty claim (97 car)

bit of an update....as usual, stratstones wilmslow have come through.no fuss,no problems, the car is being picked up today to go to the bodyshop to get sorted under warranty.i mentioned to the wife that i might like to get the front end resprayed while the car was in.i was informed ,with some forceful persuasion i might add,that after the amount i spent on a service not 3 weeks ago i could take a running jump.and for my impudence i could pay for the family to go to lapland to see santa in december.

Good to hear another positive report about Wilmslow as they have just become my local dealer.

as a dealership they are second to none fella.i think they got a bit sick of me in the early days because i kept trying to chop tvr's in for a db7!!the showroom people are great and the service centre are no fuss and always go out of their way to accomodate

Hi - have also just discovered the paint is bubbling around door handle and keyhole of my March 07 Vantage. Dealer has taken photos to forward to Aston March HQ and am awaiting feedback. Note that others are also encountering this problem on the door - is there any other area of the car where this problem has developed? Have also noted that one alloy wheel has developed corrosion. Would be grateful for any feedback.

same here ...so far, both doors, one wing, bit on bonnet and bit on the edge of the roof

havnt done anything about it yet, its over 4 years old, done 50K miles and stone chipped ...maybe another couple of panels will go and I can have a full respray
