Tell me not to get a DB9
Discussion
I've recently been pondering getting something nice to run for 12 months before settling into a life of comfy, cheap, diesel hell. I feel I have to get either the V12 Aston or V8 Ferrari thing out of my system before we're all condemned to death by lentils.
Thought I'd get in on the research now to either promote or demote the idea of a DB9, depending on what's said, of course.
So, if anyone wants to give me some idea of what I could expect in 12 months of DB9 ownership (and I'm NOT talking about women rubbing their fishbox over it), what to look for, what to avoid and typical running costs, it'd be most appreciated.
Ta.

I think the Ferrari is the car for you
What makes you say that?michael gould said:
the "fishbox" comment.......An Aston owner wouldn't use that turn of phrase
Actually, I borrowed the phrase from something written by Rowan Atkinson. Unless I'm bitterly mistaken, he has owned and still owns a selection of Aston Martins. This naturally invalidates your point.
Thanks for playing, though.
I find your unwillingness to stick to the topic offensive, I find your perceived marque-snobbery offensive and I find your judgmental tone offensive.
If you're genuinely offended by the term 'fishbox', use the report button.
How about you don't look at this thread again and I won't talk to you again? That way, everyone's happy and we can all move on.

Nothing wrong with the V8, per se, it's just personal preference. I believe the DB9 would make for a more comfortable and relaxed driving experience, more typical of a true GT, than say a V8 Vantage.
So don't understand DB9 vs V8 Ferrari,. If you want a true GT then that rules out the Ferrari. Decision made! Neil1300R said:

Californias don't look that good in the flesh. Their is something gratuitously flashy and overblown about them. In my opinion it's a poser's car.
I was chatting at the weekend to a guy at a petrol station who had a DB9 Volante and previously had an F430. He found the F430 unreliable and the DB9 far better built and just as enjoyable a drive. Just what he said. I'd have the 9 if I were you.
