Had my day made for me today. Popped into our local Halfords and on my way out saw that a brand new Vanquish had parked next to my wife's golf. Excellent opportunity for a close-up look. It was a 2+2 in metallic grey with a blck interior. It was even wearing a pair of the (new for '04) 7 spoke alloys (similar to the design on the v8 Vantage concept).

It's owner then came by, so I thought it only right and proper to tell him what a superb car he had. "Yeah, it's OK isn't it?" he replied. Understatement of 2004 methinks.

Anyway, he then started her up and burbled away. What a gorgeous car, and what a gorgeuos sound.

Whoever you were, Sir, you made my day

Er, last time I was in a Vanquish there was not room for an extra two seats in the back.

The Vanquish comes in 2 types: 2+2 and 2+0.

There is no room with the 2+12, so most have been sold with the 2+0 option

I stand corrected.

Just checked the Aston Martin website.

Sorry to be picky, but the 2+2 is the more desirable. Most have been built with the option of rear seats. My little 'un is 5 and he can get behind me in the Vanquish.

The 2+2 is purely to fill the space in the back with something other than extra luggage/carpet space. Nobody can fit in the back seat of a Vanquish without the loss of feet and ankles unless the passenger seat is on the dash. its smaller than DB7 in the back.
