need 4 x disc and pads for V8V
Discussion
Out of interest, I've seen that EBC do replacement pads for the V8 Vantage from their Redstuff and Yellowstuff ranges.
They claim that the Redstuff is an Original Quality Pad and the Yellowstuff is an Upgrade Quality Pad. Both are less than half the price of OEM for a set (front or rear).
Are they okay to use on the standard discs?
I've used Yellowstuff on my Elise (standard discs) and they were very good.

I would stick to OE pads - which are Pagid RS4-2-2 (Pagid black) ...
The factory teams do upgrade the pads for track work, to RS14s ...which are a bit too noisy for me for road use, and not so good from cold
..if you use non OE pads, Iguess you will have to jury rig some blanking connectors on the brake pad warning sensors so they are not continuously telling you the pads are worn out

yeah, wear indicator wires ...so you know when the pads need changing
..and another thing Ive noticied, the rear hand brake pads wear more than you think, smaller thinner pads I guess, and I think the ESP may use them too...
you can buy Pagid RS42s off the shelf, but I dont think they will come with the holes for the wear indicators, hence you have to buy OE pads made for Aston (by Pagid) in lower volume (more price) or you have to do away with the wear indicator wire function

You're not having much luck sarb! Have you had the car long?
As above, I personally wouldn't bother with EBC pads. Had them on my Caterham once and they were rubbish. Have had Pagids on the car ever since and they are light years better. So was happy when I heard they were OE on the Vantage.
I also wouldn't want to lose the wear indicator function - should save the discs!

Hi sarb as both bogie and murph state, I had look at the ebc brake pads and tried a few sets in a view to offering them as an alternative, unfortunately imho they were not as good as the standard pagids, especially when cold, seemed okay at higher temperatures, so may be worth considering as a pad for such as track days, unusual that you require discs and pads all round, the usual guide for pads is 20k for the rears and 30k for the fronts, discs usually last at least two sets of pads, the life of the discs can be easily calculated over the mileage done against how much wear is evident, the pads do have wear indicators showing when they are at their minimum, Once the warning is on you can get approximately 1000 miles before metal to metal contact damaging the discs (this mileage can vary considerably depending on driving style so when warning on take it steady)and replace as soon as possible,
