DB9 - what's the deal?

I have done some searching and cannot find much information. I may be in the market for a DB9 and wondered if there is anything major to look out for. I have read a post about the V12 engine and the small potential issues but nothing else. If you own one what is it like to live with? The Touchtronic is it a nice box? Does it have a full automatic mode for town driving? What is the space like in terms of boot and back seats...?
I am looking to get in a sub 35k miler in a dark colour for less than £50k - is this realistic?
What is the situation with warranty? Can the warranty be transferred from the previous owner to me in all cases? (I ask because Porsche do not allow it when the car has passed through a dealer between owners - private-to-private is fine). Can you warranty a DB9 that doesn't have one currently if you are buying from non-maindealer?

The information you need is very basic e.g "is there any room in the back seats" and I would suggest a visit to your local AM dealer would answer many of your questions......but the most important questions I can help with..........the DB9 is reliable and you will pick up a very nice 5 year old sub 30k miles DB9 for less than 50k.........happy hunting
You can get a warranty, from aston. They will inspect it and tell what it need before they would put one on. This can be transfered (btw if you buy a Porsche that has extended warranty and from a non Porsche dealer, just fill the paperwork in and send it off. How do they know where you bought it from).
The auto box on my DB9 is superb, and for 50k you could get a volante. Obviously the more options the better but a sat nav (even though it is pants) is a must

I owned a DB9 (MY05) for 4 years before i bought my V12 Vantage. The db9 is a very good car and proved very reliable. In general not many parts are prone to faults and if it has a full AM service history you will be fine. Th only think to look out for is body damage as this is expensive to repair and paints are difficult to match. Personally I would not go for a Volante as the early models shake quite a lot. I think the later cars where much better / stiffer. The touchtronic box is great and suits the car well. The early cars suffered from some electronic gremlins most to do with the premium Linn sound system (subwoofer issues) but those are all sorted by now. Manual cars are rare and so are cars with sport pack. Sport pack is preferred by some but not all as it gives the car a harder ride and a bit less clearance. I sold mine (20k miles and 4 years old) for 45k and that was a steal - should never have sold it but 50k should buy you a good example - happy hunting.

I agree with all the previous comments......the golden rule of buying a 4 or 5 year old Aston is do your homework......stay clear of multi owner cars......ring up previous owners and any dealers who have stamped the service book........if your not confident then use a local dealer to check out the car or Rick at DMS.....if you can find a car with some Aston warranty even better.......good luck ....good hunting
