Hi all
Having pondered for over 6 months between a V8V and a GT3, ive finally made my mind up and taken delivery of my first Aston.
Its a 57 V8V in Tungsten with Iron Ore (pics to follow!) from Stratstone Wilmslow.
I thought id drive the car for a while to get used to the niggles before I started asking questions, so here goes!
1/There doesnt seem to be any power from the centre console socket, is this just a fuse/easy fix problem?
2/When the engine is cold, there seems to be a lack of power in 2nd and 3rd very low down in the revs (almost as if there is a fuelling issue) . This has only happened a couple of times, would a remap cure this?
3/Having read a few posts regarding remapping, which company seems to be considered to be the best? Could anyone who has had the before/after experience please give me your opinions.
4/Ive noticed that a few people have removed the front number plate mounting (which I agree is very ugly). How are people attaching the number back on? Self adhesive or drilling?
Thats all I can think of for now, and I have to say that this forum has provided some great knowledge and is a credit to its members!
PS. Really enjoying the car and not thinking about the GT3 one bit now!!!

I have the Aston engine upgrade (380 to 400 bhp) probably not the most exciting of upgrades, but the car is slightly quicker through the gears and top end.

4) With mine I was able to use the original holes and also hide the screw caps in the lettering. I also used double sided tape on the edges so it curves with the body rather than having "wings".
If you have issues with performance etc I would return to the dealer and get them to check. Surely they must have done a pre delivery inspection/service prior to hand over?
You shouldn't have to worry if you have just picked it up.

To confirm what others have said...
1) Yes - likely to be a fuse. Check that first. Could have been disconnected by accident if it's had any work in that area of the car.
2) Shouldn't need this. I'd get the supplying dealer to check it (or take it to a specialist to check over if you bought private).
3) Wouldn't bother until you've fixed (2). Not sure the gains achievable are really worth the outlay on these really.
4) Sticky pads. Easy to do. Saves lots of weight. Looks a lot better without.

I tussled for a months between the V8V and the GT3, wasnt really interested in the Turbo as it was four wheel drive and I wanted a purer driving experience.
In the end it was the everyday drivability of the V8V that won it. I do about 15000 miles a year albeit not all in the Aston, but the GT3 is just a little too focused to be doing that type of mileage. Running costs are about the same as is the depreciation in both cars.
Looks also played a part if I was honest, the Aston is just gorgeous to look at, always makes you take a second glance!
Having gone for the Aston and really enjoying it, if I had nice car to be doing the M6 roadworks on a weekly basis, then I would have gone for the GT3. It is a very very good car, but IMHO not a daily driver especially in clubsport spec(although I guess some present GT3 owners would like to disagree!)
Whichever way you go, you will have a cracking car and when you add up the pros and cons you are splitting hairs.
