GEARBOX FAULT NO REVERSE NO FORWARD GEARS
Discussion
Hi all,
Do the shift by wire mechanisms get fouled up on these models?
Took the 06 db9 automatic out of storage this, got this error message when I put the car into park on one occasion. After turning the car off there was no error, all gears are shifting normally.
I have verified there are no leaks from the cooler lines as well.
Is it possible this is triggered from low voltage after sitting for a few months? The battery is almost 2 years old so maybe I should just replace it in case.
This did not happen while driving just after I hit the P button while getting ready to turn the car off.
Thanks for the response as allways!

Everything seems to be working fine on the car.
It starts up without issue, and it does go into park. I did not see a message for park lock failure at the time gearbox fault appeared. At first it said no reverse, then it said no forward gears. I did not try to put it into gear when this message appeared. I turned it off and restarted and the errors were gone.
The only time the error came up was when I switched to Park, ready to depart the vehicle.

if it only happened going into park and everything else seems to work ok i would say the park button is to blame . they are quite a common fault and cheap and easy to change. some times if the button is not pressed hard enough it brings a fault message on the dash . so monitor it and see how u go .
