Fell off the back of a lorry today
Discussion
Thanks to your advice Francis I have got all the stuff (and a lighter pocket :-) ) you suggested this week. Will be ready to give it a good coating of Best of Show wax, not before a proper prep of cleaning etc.
There where so many reflections in the showroom, it was difficult to get a good idea of the colour on camera. I want to build up a good base of wax from the start to make a long lasting shine and protection.
Will post more pictures when I get it home next week.
Funny enough, just watching Bond movie on ITV.
Cheers,
Ian

Nice one ian, it looks lovely. I would put 2 coats of the wax on and then one as and when needed.
The wheels are the things to watch. Aston wheels love to collect brake dust, so make sure you keep on top of them. If you bought that wheel cleaner i told you about, you only need to use it 3 to 1. Its good to see you doing it propely mate.

Very, very nice.
Though why the hell did Aston replace the original wing mirrors with a pair from an artic'!? Bloody build regulation meddlers.
Enjoy the car!!
I have the 2010 MY mirrors and they are enormous. They are like something off a 4x4 and have lost all the elegance of the earlier ones. I am contemplating a change to the earlier ones. Of course you do get a good view of the traffic disappearing behind you.

I completely agree, the mirrors are less attractive than the early models. Now if an aftersales company came up with a carbon version of the old style mirror and reduced the wind noise, then I'm sure there would be many takers.
Can't wait till Wednesday to take delivery. Will give it a good wax first and understand all the new gadgets before taking a good long drive. Keeping an eye on the weather too.
Thank you to Glyn who inspired me with his car cleaning thread on here and posting the Floridian V8V in Quantum silver. It's virtually identical to my car. Also to Francis for comprehensively listing all the products to start cleaning and caring for the new edition to the family.
Cheers,
Ian

Congratulations on the car Ian.....looks superb.
Out of interest, I'm curious to know whether they are offering the carbon fibre pack as option yet on new cars?
Funny enough Steve, I was talking with the Branch Manager today about a few details, and he mentioned he has just ordered (by request of the factory I uderstand) a Carbon fibre pack of Front Splitter and rear dufuser to fit a showroom car. Didn't mention cost. I would consider it.Out of interest, I'm curious to know whether they are offering the carbon fibre pack as option yet on new cars?
Love the colour of your car.
Cheers,
Ian
