As I approached the Dartford Bridge earlier this eve, a "bridge patrol vehicle" pulled in front of me, put the lights on and "DO NOT OVERTAKE" came up in his rear window. So there we all were, 4 lanes of traffic behind this patrol vehicle. Just onto the bridge he stops, passenger gets out and removes a large chunk of metal (thank God) from the carriageway.

So I am sitting there with a now totally empty 4 lane motorway over the bridge in front of me. The patrol guy pulls over and waves us on. "THANK YOU" comes up in rear window.

I had to do it, opportunities like this are rare, so I gave it considerable beans. So childish but so rewarding. Reality is now setting in but if I receive a note in the post, I still think it was worth my minute or so of fun. Not that I exceeded the speed limit at all......

What would you have done?.......Honestly!

Only way to do it - top effort!
Hope you don't get a ticket but at least you are prepared to take any (unlikely) fine like a man.

Err, err, you know what I mean wink

Half the bridge at 10mph, half the bridge at 130mph. Average speed = 70mph.

Floor it, its the only way. Or at least the only way to make the investment we have in these cars worthwhile. You'd have 'sensible' car otherwise.
