I am obviously drawn to AM. Who isn't?

I went to a well established AM dealer this weekend, who had had all the old stock cleared. I sat in a '10 model DB9 which was brand spanking 'in transport mode'. Unfortunately as it had not been prepared yet for its lucky owner, the dealer told me that the seats could not be altered from their delivery position. As a result l I found it too cramped and could not sit comfortably. Head touched the ceiling and my knees weren't far off the dash. I am 6ft 2 and now genuinely concerned that I cannot fit in my dream car. "second best" is the V8V, but I have not been on one, but some screwed up logic told me it must be too small..........and I didn't try it. Having landed back in the real world and read some of the posts on this forum I wonder whether the V8V actually has more cabin space than the DB9. Can any one make comment? (That is apart from calling me a tosser and a dreamer!!!)

Rgds, Brin

At 6'2" (my height), you will fit in a DB9.

After driving V8V and DB9 back to back with the factory cars last week, I was suprised to find a difference in leg room beteen the 2 cars. I'm 6' 1 1/2" (you know that 1/2" makes a difference) and have long legs (36" inside leg). The V8V can easily accommodate my leg length with combination of seat position, back/forth and tilt, plus steering wheel rake / height adjust. I drove the V8V with sports shift first for half an hour. By the way, that gearbox is much better than reported. I have driven my own V8V for up to 4 hours with great comfort.
Next to the DB9. First thing, hit the toggle switch to bring the seat back and suprised to find it does not provide the same length as the V8V due to the rear seat. No adjustment to seat rake or tilt could accommodate the same position as the V8V. It was not uncomfortable for the short drive, but shorter than the V8V.
Just as a side bar, the guys at the factory said the new sports seat are slightly lower than the regular seat and offer a better heal and toe option.
Cheers,
Ian
