there are two metal filters that require cleaning when the oil and filter is changed, they are easily recognisable as they are round in shape approximately 4cms across held in by two torx (star shaped) bolts and fitted to the bottom of the dry sump, after removing the covers you will see a threaded section in the bottom of the filter, insert a m8 bolt into this, give it a wiggle and down pull and the filter will pull free, be careful as this can be a bit messy, clean and refit, there are two sump plugs one on the main reservoir which has a copper washer which i recommend replacing, and a second one on the bottom of the engine which has a rubber seal, again i would replace this, replace the spin on oil filter and refill with 10w60 oil

I can add pictures if required

My dealer just did my 4 year service and apparently Aston are using/advising on a new Mobil 1 Oil now, Mobil 1 5W-50, Rally Formula. I am glad that I have 4 litres of the old oil now in the garange..

its whoever theyve done a kick back deal with ...thats all ....Castrol is still as good as it ever was ...as is Mobil ...as is Silkolene

its useful to know what the person changing it is using though, so you can top up with the same stuff
