when I bought mine, i think the previous owner was a lady who wore steel tipped stilettos it would seem LOL

I just bought some new sill covers - they come as a pair, are solid ally, easy to replace in 10mins. I Ended up selling the one I didnt need to a Canadian guy on the forums - of course in LHD countries they scuff their LH sill more and we do our RH sill wink

..oh, they are not really expensive....IIRC from about 3 years ago, they were about £80 a pair ...its not worth mucking about if they get badly scuffed - they are consumables smile

same here - I was pleasantly surprised at the price, its nearly worth keeping a spare pair in the garage

yeah, any dealer parts dept - they got them in 48 hours for me ...I thought I was ordering a single one for the price quoted, and a matched pair turned up for that price smile

Just out of interest, are everyone else's a purple type colour?
In not sure if we're talking about the same part but I'm on about the metre long metal plates that run just inside the door. Mine are purple and I've been trying to find whether they all are and if I can get them changed to silver or something.

Any ideas?!

mine are dark grey aluminium ...if they are purple and its quite a new car, are you sure the dealers took the protective film off prior to delivery?

when they are new, they come with film on them...which looks bluey/purple, its supposed to be peeled off

Mine are purple-ish in color too. I have a few scratches as well. Glad to know the parts are cheap to replace.

I did think that about the film covering when I picked up the car, but being as it's a 2006 fairly certain it's not! I've also had a good look and it's definitely not a film.

I'm really keen to change mine - they're scratched and I really don't like the purple! I've seen in a couple of pictures of cars for sale that they can be black or dark grey, which I'd much prefer. Does anyone know the part number?

dunno the P/N is, I just went down the parts dept of my dealer and asked for them ...picked them up at the weekend, 10 mins later fitted - screwdrive and allen key I think thats all is needed

actually a nice design - solid metal, and replaceable when scuffed smile
