Final Spec 2010 V8V
Discussion
Just making final spec for 2010 V8V.
Have chosen N400 sills and looking for feedback if they help reduce stone chips from front wheels enough to not add front stone guards? I would prefer the clean lines without front stone guards, but if they help reduce / block stone debrit with N400 sills, I will spec them. Any help from owners ?
Many thanks, Ian

I would get the whole of the sills and up to the swage line over the rear arch done in armourfend film, before delivery - for the sake of a couple of hundred quid, it will save it looking peppered in 10K miles ..
I second that.Cheers,
Ian

Even with the N400 sills ?

Looking at the profile of car, I can't see that the sills will prevent grit flying off the front wheels as the rear arches are wider still. Maybe they will help in a straight line but turn the front wheels to any degree and there is a perfect line of sight to those arches. Get them covered; it's my one regret and the cost of rectifying the damage is by no means small.Cheers,
Ian
Even with the N400 sills I think you will pick up stone chips on the front of the rear arch. When you spec the stone guards you get a clear film applied to the front of the rear arch area. The film on mine is speckled with minor impact marks from grit etc even though the car has only done 3000 miles. It will be much easier to replace this piece of film that repaint the car. The doors are completely free of any chips.
You can just about make out the arching outline of the film on the rear arch in this photo:
Quantum Silver is avery nice choice by the way

Thanks again guys, I'm visiting the factory on Wednesday which I'm really looking forward to. Might even see the car in production. I thinks its front stone guards and some film protection on the leading edge of the rear arches. I will be glad when the weather gets warmer up here in the North East and the roads are clear of salt and grit. Just hope all the bl..dy pot holes get filled, I've never seen so many.
Cheers,
Ian

Didn't get to see my actual car at the factory, but did have a great day at Gaydon, the factory tour is a visit every owner should do. You really get to understand what beneath the skin of your car and how its all bolted together.
My car is officially 'In Distribution'. Very frustrating as I cannot get an answer where the car is, or when it will arrive at the dealer. Should be next week(i Hope). In the mean time, thanks to Glyn and Francis I have ordered enough Swissvax product to protect the QE2
The latest 10 spoke wheeels with graphite spec for sportspack look fab.
Cheers,
Ian
