Servicing 2007 4.3 V8 Vantage
Discussion
from the people I know that have used it, as to be expected, you get a perfectly textbook Aston Martin Service and a well valeted car back, for about 30% more than the most expensive of dealers...how that compares to your local dealer will vary.....
..and those dealers are about 50% more expensive than a very good independant, who can offer similar (or better) service in some cases
oh you do get a little "Works prepared" sticker, which means a lot in some Aston collectors circles it seems ..
I guess, come resale, if you only ever had it serviced by AM Works, it would look nice in the history file, and make it easier to sell, but I doubt it will add value to equal the extra £1000 a year youve spent servicing it
.....of course if you have a £200K collectors Aston Martin then you would have it picked up by AM Works covered transporter, and returned back once per year, in immaculate nick, and be a few thousand quid worse of for the priviledge
....but us mere mortal modern (used) Aston owners, we have to be more careful with our cash, and make it go further, so it dosent take so long to save up for the next one ...so a trip down the M1 and £600 at DMS will do me nicely thanks

I'm not sure about it being considerably more expensive than a dealership. I got a quote of £1050 (incl. VAT) from Works Service for my 4 year service on my V8V, which was about £120 cheaper than the quote from my dealership. And when I asked specifically what the service would entail, I got a list about twice as long from WS as I did from the dealer, and was told WS would take two days to the dealer's one day. So I figure I'm getting much more attention and better value for money from Works Service.
Anyway, I'll let you know once it's done.

Rick at DMS carried out my 2nd yr service for £450 all in (2007 v8v). As well as the service (and valet), he detailed a few faults for that the AM warranty covered, gave me advice on a clutch fix and lent me his car for a couple of hours so I could trip over the Peak District to see Chatsworth House. I know he's a long way from Newport, but he's also a long way from South London and I'll def be making the return trip.
