A couple of days back the alarm system on my 2007 Vantage activated by itself whilst the car was locked away in the garage.

I reset it using the remote whereupon at activated again.

Reset it yet again and all then seemed in order.

Jumped in the car today , switched on the ignition and saw the following message displayed where the digital speedo usually is.

"Alarm System Fault Service Required "

I can clear the message by pressing the "read" button on the dash by the sat nav control as suggested in the handbook.

When I switch off the ignition and then back on again, the message re-appears.

Anyone any idea what the problem is , and is there a way I scan sort it because as always, time is the enemy and I don't want to have to travel the 45 miles to the nearest dealership in Exeter unless I really have to.

This hppaened to mine. There is a battery backed alarm siren in the car that has eventually died. Usually around the 2-3 year mark. You'll need to get the dealer to replac the battery for you. It isn't easy to access for obvious reasons...
