I keep waiting to hear something from them, as I originally heard that bit of news 5-6 months ago...
I was told just a few weeks ago Stuart, I'll see what I can find out as an update.alanp1 said:
if your car is still in warranty , i would wait for Aston as it is not far off.
Anything else can cause problems , which will not be covered .
I've never run into anyone who had any problems after fitting a sports exhaust. Aston themselves confirmed to me that they wouldn't attempt to invalidate anyone's warranty on the basis of a sports exhaust.Anything else can cause problems , which will not be covered .

Hi Stuart I find that statement strange as well what problems, Dealers have been fitting non genuine sports exhausts, decorking and removing fuse 22 for years, With no issue with the cars or warranty, so why if Aston produce there own should this change as the precedent has already been set, Anything else can cause problems , which will not be covered .

My dealer has fitted a couple on my cars and confirmed that there would be nop problem with warranty work
most dealers actually offer such things, i cant see them doing that if "it causes problems"
"oh sir, would you like a new exhaust, so we can invalidate any warranty claims you may have?" LOL
My dealer took the fuse out before Id test driven it, and we discussed what exhausts the could fit at the time ...

Please refur to your handbook page c.4 " What is not coverd " Failure to use aston martin specified parts or fluids during a warranty repair.
Any modification of the vehicle or parts which is not authorised by aston martin, including ANY engine performance enhancement modifications.
Aston martin are finding it hard at the moment, if your engine was to blow and they find out you have fitted non authorised parts, They would not pay the claim.
Ov corse rick-derby will say its ok, its the only work they can do, the same with other NON Authorised dearlers.

As your first post very enlightening, I am curious though as authorised dealers as you put it,not only stock and fit non genuine exhausts to cars that are covered by Aston Martin warranty does this mean that they are breaking there own rules and invalidating the warranty, secondly you state "it's the only work they can do", Are you under the impression that we only do upgrades, and can not carry our servicing and repairs, updates or problem solving, are you under the illusion that because we are not an authorised dealer that our work would be sub standard because of this, our equipment or product knowledge inferior to your own, We are so confident we have workshop web cams showing how we work and the equipment we use, please feel free to view them and comment on any failings, as constructive criticism will only help improve our service,Any modification of the vehicle or parts which is not authorised by aston martin, including ANY engine performance enhancement modifications.

Just as an after thought, i presume it would have to be proved that the exhaust caused an engine to fail and not other factors, possibly the rear boxes could come under block exemption, where as to comply with this genuine parts or parts that meet oe specification or exceed the specification can be used as replacements without affecting warranty,
