Hi,

I've been following the forum for a while having bought my 06 V8 Vantage in October - this is my first post. Living in Derby, I'll be going to DMS when it needs it service given the great feedback Rick gets.

I really love my car, but the one thing it's missing is HID lamps. I thought I'd get used to normal lights again having had Xenons on my last two cars, but I can't.

There a a load of websites that sell HID conversion kits. Has anyone done this? Are there any pitfalls I'm missing as they seem pretty cheap?

Anyone know how much AM would charge to change?

Cheers in advance

Dan

Hi Dan and welcome to the forum, the hid kits available do have a few legal issues, technically hid kits have to have an auto levelling system and headlamp washers to be used on a car in the UK, If these kits are fitted though your car will not fail the mot, as the test is only that it has headlights that work and are correctly adjusted, but could be an issue with the police or insurance company if found to have them fitted without the additional systems technically the car would not be road legal, retrofitting the genuine Aston Martin system, Hid lamps, washer system and automatic levelling system would be quite expensive,

They are some OE Xenon ones for sale on eBay:

Like Rik said you should really have the self-levelling kit to go with it. So it would not be a cheap upgrade going this route.
