Bootlid not opening

My bootlid refuses to open when pressing the opener on the dashboard or using the release. Only when I use the key fob twice it pops up. Any ideas?
The stock answer from some dealers for any weird electrical gremlin is "re-flash" the system. Unless the man from the end of Brian Clough way knows another way? ;-)Hi you could try the battery reset procedure, otherwise it will require reflash,
move drivers seat forward and tilt rear of seat forward before pressing battery disconnect switch, as this will make accessing the reconnect switch much easier then you will have to reset windows and seats,

Got the same problem and have done for a while.
However mine decides to open sometimes so now have a bit of string attached to the manual release, not great when you go shopping and have to pull the string to open your boot!
Rick need to come and see you for a service, will give you a call tomorrow to arrange dates etc.

Not sure that I have tried mine ( I usually use the ECU). I will go and test. I have noticed that the rear shelf is not particularly well fitted making the tailgate difficult to close and is probably the source of a rattle that I have yet to find. Anyone else experienced this before I return to the dealer ?
I had this on mine when it was standing frozen in the snow for several days. Boot release button wouldnt operate. Then the wing mirrors also were stuck closed. After defrosting with warm water it worked after a fashion, but then it kept opening on its own. I took it to the dealer who replaced a switch 'borrowed' from another car.
No problem since.

Agree with the parcel shelf. It rattles to the point where I want to leave it the part in the garage. Otherwise my V12 Vantage is faultless so I guess the boot release will have to wait until it is du its service. But in proper Aston fashion it will probably mend itself before then only to reappear after the service.

Parcel shelf is a minor irritant in what is a truly special car. The 200 miles that I drove today was fabulous. Tried to look for the battery disconnect switch to reboot the system as my bootlid now opens randomly when I am just about to put it into first gear and drive away. Rather irritating when you are all strapped in a ready to go you hear the "pop" and the bootlid opens on its own. Anybody knows where the battery disconnect switch is located on the V12 Vantage (or the V8 Vantage for that matter) as I tried to look for it yesterday night but could not locate it. ?

I had the same problem the first few times that I used the car. Dealer told me that it is a common problem with V8V (and presumably now the V12V) and it is the ill fitting parcel shelf that is to blame apparently. The boot lid probably did not close properly when you shut it and the momentum of slotting in to gear forces it open. They suggested taking in and they would adjust but with firmer (quite firm) closing of the boot/tailgate the problem has gone away for now. However I still have the rattle which I think is associated with the same problem so will be calling on them shortly. I also have the normal problem of the lights misting up in this weather which also occured on my N400 (they placed moisture absorbing pellets in last time to solve problem) so a visit is due. In the V8V the battery disconnection switch is located on the right hand side in the boot, next door to the tyre inflator kit and fuse box.
Once pressed you will need to turn this back on however its not the same switch as i found out some weeks ago.
The re-connection switch is located behind the drivers seat at low level and is the same size as a 10p piece.
Before pressign the disconnection switch make sure you pull your seat forward as its a nightmare to reach!
My boot is still faulty however going to DMS next week to hopefully correct!

The BDS switch has been deleted on the newer cars.Gassing Station | Aston Martin | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
