Always put super in mine, out of habit, but on checking the manual I cant find any reference to grade of fuel. Does the car adjust (as my Porsche did) if you can only get standard fuel (as I've found to be the case in some parts of eastern europe)?

It'll run fine on std unleaded (have occasionally had to myself).

But I still prefer to run it on super.

Also run my 07MY on super, I'm sure my manual recommends this....

To be fair lads i would have expected no less then VPower if you've got a Aston... I think people get very excited by ron ratings, my self included...

I used VPower in the Vantages and didn't notice the difference on the odd occasion that I couldn't get it.

However, I do seem to notice that the DBS is slightly more picky when it comes to standard unleaded.

I do accept that it's probably all in my head though smile

Got told by the dealer when I bought it that the Aston's automatically adjust for the grade of fuel, same ECU worldwide, so can even deal with crap fuel in America ~88RON.
However, usually put V-Power in mine, makes it sound better - pops and bangs more especially on cold startup with Fuse 22 taken out

Only put standard in mine (as advised by the dealer) but only branded as opposed to the supermarket fuel/water mix smile

I usually put super of some description in, the ECU does adjust, I think the engine is rated on 95 or has to state otherwise somewhere ...so 380bhp on 95 RON ...not that 98RON makes much difference in an NA engine anyway

i love it! People get so riled about fuel don't they... really i want a fk off big light and bell that rings with a speaker announcement something like " LLLLLAAAADDDDYYYSSSS AND GENTLEMEN, The chap at pump 5 is filling up with V power, the ULTIMATE petrol, look at him, a magnificent man, perhaps one day you too can join his privilaged ranks!"

Not being funny 'GingerWizard', but if your car collection doesn't include as AMV8, I was not asking for your opinion - my question was aimed at other AMV8 owners.

The funny thing is Honda high reving engines really benefit from 98/99 RON. Had an S2000 before the Aston and it needed 98 RON - actually stated it on the inside of the fuel filler cap.
Still he is Ginger so he has enough reasons for people to hate him before we get to his crass and ill considered remarks!

If your going to pay so much for a car, Pour in the Best Super or V Power... Normal Unleaded is for normal petrol cars.. These babys need nothing but the best.

Picked up my MY2010 AMV8 a couple of days ago. Asked the specific question.

Answer is modern AM's are factory tuned to run on 95 RON. Standard Unleaded. They can take higher RON variants and will automatically tune themselves for it.

I always thought they were designed to run on 98 RON but would run on 95 RON albeit with slightly less power/economy.
