The DB9's battery is completely dead, as in the car won't even lock. Now what I normally do is just plug the battery conditioner in and leave it over night and that normally has enough power to get it going, however because the battery is flat the boot won't open and the manual is in the glove box which also won't open.

Any ideas on what to do?
Are you able to jump start the car from under the bonnet?

Thanks

I think that there is a positive "jump lead point" under the bonnet. IIRC, it is under a red(??) plastic cover. Connect the negative to a suitable bit of metalwork.

Well if it was a TVR you could prise off the rear plate and find a keyhole underneath to open the boot manually, but I don't suppose Astons work like that... there must be a manual overide somewhere?

different car, but when our v8 vantage did this they put a charge through the battery behind the driver's seat, which unlocked the boot. Beware though, if you close it again it will lock again...

didn't Boxsters have this issue when they came out

i think they did a work around, get an old charger, plug into cigarette lighter, cut the wires and strap them onto a battery of some sort and it might offer enough power to pop the boot.
