A cry for help for a mate

He has a V12V and the window is stuck halfway downish and catching on the rear 1/4 window

Its been parked up for a month or so and I don't think he's had the optimiser on therefore it won't start frown

Is there any known issues with the windows on these. Is his window mechanism broken. Are they the same/similar as the V8

Is the flat battery a related problem. If so will a jump start help or is this not recommended. If we are able to jump it where is the battery ???

He has rang Aston but they have not come back to him yet ?

Would really appreciate any helpful replies

having a flat battery can effect the windows and will require resetting just like the V8, DB9 etc, there is a jump point under the bonnet that can be used this is the positive (red) connection any suitable earth engine point can be used for the negative connection, the battery is not easy to access but i can provide info if required, you can use the jump point to recharge, if the battery is completely flat the battery reconnect switch may have to be pressed before trying to start, if you need specific instructions please let me know all details are in the service book which is usually kept in the glove box, unfortunately if the battery is flat it will not open until you start to recharge the battery,

excellent, thanks rick

I was hoping you would see this smile

will the aston optimiser do enough overnight??

what details do you require from the handbook to do the reset

I've not seen the car for a little while, its just been a phone call

This should put his mind at rest at least

Are you on the net tomorrow or would a phone call on Monday be better ??

Thanks again smile

i am normally about and phone is always on, what i meant about the resets is all the info you need is in the handbook, as the charger supplied is only to keep the battery topped up it may not put enough in to allow the car to start though,

thanks Rick

you may or may not get a call

talking further it seems the window problem was there in between starting the car and moving it around a couple of times, so maybe its not battery related frown

anyway he has now spoken to Aston and they are coming over tomorrow so we'll see what develops

will post up the results, whatever they maybe

thanks again
