Just a shame there copies... and at £50 a pop arent a very cheap copy.

I know they will work the same as an original but I thought blank DVD's where slightly less than £50.

You need dual layer DVD blanks. Still not 50 quid, but more expensive than std discs.

Plus to know where to get the info and how to use it...

None of it hard wink

There's also a copyright issue, and selling on eBay is pretty high profile!

2009 Covers the following countries...

Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Greece,
Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Croatia, Luxemburgo,
Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Polonia, Portugal, Eslovenia,
Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland

works on 2005 to 2007/8 non harddrive based systems... v8s and db9s... and it gives ya full postcode searching too....

Better than the standard partial postcode search crap that was in the car

The maps are also very much improved, which helps a fair bit with the directions.

Very far from perfect still (speed cameras and traffic info would be nice). But much better.

Im working with someone to try and get the tmc to work. It's a case of changing the frequency within the system menu of the sat nav to a classic fm frequency. And trying to change code of software to enable the POI's... I will keep everyone informed of how i get on... TMC and Speed camera's work fine in the rest of Europe. The 87.5 frequency set in the Nav system enables TMC in Europe. Even on my original DVD that came with the car it states clearly "TMC Is only available within the following countries" and names a few but not UK (Great Britain).

You can buy them for about 176 quid from Navteq I think (the partno. for the Volvo version has been provided on here. Just ask for that).

iTIS transmit on a silent data channel as part of Classic FM's signal 101.1

I got TMC to work but its messy. So need to Find out if a AM Diagnostics Kit can change the frequency from 87.5 to 101.1.

The way i got it to work was i hardwired a FM Transmitter into the car with a really small radio device set to 101.1 then set the fm modulator
to transmit on 87.5.... And it actually works... But Again too messy.

Will have a word with my dealer... Unless Rick can help.

Im in China next week, so will see if i can draw up a device and get it made... haha ...

Cheers

Any idea why AM do not enable TMC in the UK? Seems really strange. Good luck "hacking" it...!

I know for fact the New DVD supports TMC 7.1, So defo will work with the Aston Martin , But need to find a way of altering the operational signal within the satnav unit.

I'm pretty sure the std disks would work if the channel could be changed. And am equally sure the channel must be changeable via software. It's just knowing how to get into it (an editable version of the screen that allows you to see what channel is being used).

It can be view viewed in the Nav system profiles, Which can be accessed on seeing the AM logo sequence (Back Enter Back) should be bring up a black screen with white writing, The tmc frequency is there... But your right it can be edited using a terminal tool or piece of software .
