1962 Lagonda Rapide spotted sitting on my garage ramps in Gloucestershire!

This beautiful old beasty comes in dark metallic blue, with cream leather interior, electric windows all round, and a 4 litre straight six David brown engine under ther bonnet. (it's basically an automatic DB4 with a modified rear suspension and different coachwork, according to the Lagonda/Aston Martin/David Brown history web-site.) And the owner wants to sell it... (his wife doesn't like it).

now to have to choose between this and the Sierra RS500 Cosworth sat next to it...

This car belongs to Martin Buckley, the motoring journalist and is, I think, for sale.

Lovely piece of kit - in a better fairer world three bays of the fantasy garage would be taken up by one of these, an AMV8 Lagonda and a wedge

If you want the Aston experience then dont buy the rapide. If you want the Lagonda experience then do.

I have nothing against them, but they only built (I think- I'll have to check) 7.

Incidentally, has anyone ever seen a rapide with the DB4 style front? I have often heard about this. but the only ones I have ever seen have got the three piece grille...

The seven lagondas were the AMV8 Lagondas, not the rapides.

The one with the DB4 front was David Brown's own car
