56 plate spotted in Warminster wilts trying to fill up with petrol .......

I say trying as he'd only just bought it and didnt know how to open the filler cap ......
Good job he had the manual in the glove box ....
Spoke to him briefly and seemed a sound guy , as i commented on it being a top nice car .....

God i love the v8 vantage better than any porsche and ferrari.......

But the garage door was closed when I walked past.
Hopefully is still there!

Some friendly chap in a golf spotted my Vantage in Guildford yesterday, gave a beep of the horn to get my attention, I looked over and he presented two fingers and said something beginning with F.

I seem to have been spotted like this every time I've been out since I got it 3 weeks ago, I thought people liked these cars!

hehe

There's something people don't like, I've had more experiences like this in 3 weeks than I had in 18 months in a lairy looking 911 GT2. I think people associate Astons with bankers or something smile

Considering selling the bloody thing!

Never experienced this in mine in 30k miles and 2.75yrs.

Mind you, the only car that ever received any negativity was once in Wandsworth in my 7 when some chavs chucked a can of beer at me.

Does it always happen in Guildford...?

I'm utterly gobsmacked!

I've had mine for 14 months, and I have been astonished at the positive response. I can park it anywhere, (except maybe B&Q).

I had an American sailor friend as a passenger. I explained that the Aston appealed to ALL classes. As we drove through a council estate (to his marina) a couple of kids jumped out into the road and took a photograph. I stopped and let them sit in the driver's seat. I really do not know who was happier, Them or Me.

At the "Wings and Wheels" event at Dunsfold, I was approached by a 70 year old gentleman who explained that his 6 y/o grandson realy wanted to see an Aston. While the kid sat in the driver's seat, a Vulcan flew across, and the old chap said that he used to fly them. What an honour.

I really think that you are misinterpreting peoples reactions.

996GT2. Are you wearing a Porsche baseball cap? Like the rest, I can't understand it all, in 3 years and 30K miles I have not had one bad comment only admiration.

I will drive up the A3 through Guildford next week and prove you wrong wink

No need I live / drive around similar area to 996GT2, only ever get positive looks / comments.

Had the gas meter read the other day, he had to squeeze past the car to read the meter in the garage, by all accounts he nearly genuflected in front of the garage when the OH opened the garage door. smile

Wonder what 99GT2 is doing wrong?

Can confirm that Toro Red only adds to the positive feedback. Invariably I get "Nice car" followed by "... and that's a great colour" biggrin
