Just noticed todays entry Aston Green Metalic V8 Vantage for sale at Legends UK in pistonheads classified.2007,£47,500. Mileage- 9,200.Spec looks good. I`ve always admired the classic
Astons in this colour but you hardly see Vantages with this choice, why is this, because the photo`s look great.Thinking of eventual resale, is it good or bad? The wife`s choice would be black but it would be nice to have something a bit different. Let me know your thoughts please.
Thanks,steve

OK, found the comment about the "classic Astons" confusing and wondered if he meant one of these.
Yes I could have the read the details and located the car... wink

Steve, I have an Almond Green Aston V8 Vantage (new type) for 3.5 years, and personally I have been very very happy with the colour. I chose it against all others when speccing my car at the factory back in November 2005. I was inspired by the classic Astons on 'The Street' in Gaydon, all the lovely DBR1's etc in that colour. Not many there in Silver or tones of Dark Grey. I get many comments on how good it looks. It was a 'brave' choice, along with my lack of Sat Nav, but who cares when the car is a 'keeper'. She comes up really well when I get the time to get the Zymol out, and also in this pants weather does not look to grubby. I see this car has Phanton Grey inside too, this is the same as mine also, this is a more conservative choice, but looks good IMO.

I like the green, but do think it could be a bind at resale if such matters are a concern.

Black looks stunning when clean. But it's very rarely clean in the UK!

If I were buying again, I'd go with a grey/silver colour tbh. They look very good, and are less susceptible to dirt from what I've seen.

Go for the colour that you like. The only time to really consider the risk of choosing something other than the standard sliver/black/grey/dark blue is if you are buying new. Otherwise you can haggle over price if you think that it might not be easy to sell on but also recognise that you MAY get a lower price when you sell. Whilst you have the car it will be exactly what you want.

James, your colour looks brighter than the one advertised. Are they different,
if so, what is the actual colour called ?

I think the one advertised is Aston Martin Racing Green AMRG. This is slightly less 'appley' than almond green. They are very close tho.

Obviously, you need to buy the car that you like.

However, a green V8 will attract a less "generous" bid come trade in time.

If it is the car for you, you buy well now, then go for it.
