I'm sure this has been asked before a squillion times but i am looking for real worl experiances of ownership of this car.

I have always wanted an Aston (who hasn't) and with prices now in my range £30k ish The time looks right to fulfil my dream. My question is will my dream turn into a nightmare? At my price range i am looking at early 00's models, i want the 6 litre V12 flavour i know that much. Fuel isn't going to be an issue as it will just be a weekend car and fuel will go through my business anyway, but what about service time is this going to make me keel over? I have a Range Rover and owned several jags in the past so i am used to services of that kind of expense. But how does Aston compare?

Also what things should i be looking out for, i have heard that the AC can be an issue, anything else? Any advice would be appreciated as i have only ever driven a 97 DB7 when it was new which belonged to a friend, but he hated it and got out of it as soon as he could due to gearbox problems and a host of other issues too. Did reliability change at any certain year?

if you trawl through the past posts using the search facility you will find the information you need.....in general the DB7 V12 is reliable but check that plugs and coil packs have been replaced as these tend to be a problem at about 50k miles or 5 to 7 years old .....its £1500 job....otherwise specialists suck as Rick at DMS Ltd in Derby will keep your Aston on the road for less than £1000 per year ish

I did the search and had a trawl, i seen the coil packs mentioned so cheers for the heads up. So all in all no major disasters with the V12 flavour then :-)
