Works Service called and asked whether I wanted the three scuffed alloys refurbed during the service at 180 pounds plus vat for each wheel!! Does anyone have a trusted mobile refurb specialist that can visit central London?

Thanks for your help!

I'm looking forward to trying out the WS installed exhaust bypass switch on the DBS - my neighbours will be especially happy about that mod

We have practised on old wheels and i can say the results were less than satisfactory, personally i would recommend getting them done professionally, you can order a diy repair kit of ebay and they come with instructions and various tools to carry out the job, Before attempting on an Aston wheel though get an old wheel from a scrapyard to practice on,

I have had 4 wheels done by these guys - http://www.lepsons.com (2 nearside on a Porsche and both fronts on my AMV8). The ones on my AMV8 were 'refurbed' by the previous owner just before I bought it, but they were not at all good. At lepsons, the cost was about £100 per wheel (if you take the car) in for the AMV8 (its cheaper if you take the wheels in without the car) but the results are brilliant. FYI, my Porsche was £85 per wheel. Takes about 3-4 days to do. I would not take my cars anywhere else now.

Don't know where you are but these chaps enjoy an absolutly top reputation on Pistonheads and other motoring web sites. I've used them myself and can vouch for them. Rich...

Another vote for Lepsons here. Just had all 4 done on my Vantage and they have done an excellent job (I am really picky about these things).

I'm assuming WS is still based in Newport Pagnell?

If so, likely as not they will get Pristine to do them...hence the price.

Pristine are very good, used them before on a set of Mecedes with diamond finished edges (i.e. no paint, just lacquer on top of bare alloy). Results were amazing.

Probably better to take them straight to Pristine if that is the case as you'll probably save a few quid. They are probably 10 minutes from WS, maybe less.

Does anyone know if a wheel refurb would also cover the centre caps? Mine seem to be a little scuffed around the edges.

Centre-caps are known for this - water gets under the laquer and they delaminate from the edge. Only choice is to buy news ones I think.

Thanks for the suggestions. Is there any point with a mobile unit or is that asking for a potentially bad job done?

I've read good reports on some of these outfits but I guess you'd need a recommendation. Perhaps you could even ask for the name of a few customers they've done work for?
