New V8 ..what to do ??
Discussion
Popped into AM stealers yesterday to show(prepare);) the other half of the master plan over the next couple of years ie. I NEED a new V8 but am prepared to wait as its a load of cash etc etc....
Anyhows, whilst having a general peruse, letting her oooh and aaarh over the cars got talking to the Salesman about the normal..."when would sir be looking to deal" etc noticed a New gorgeous red (amethyst) black leather sportshift with all the usual required spec new MY2009 sat there with a tag of £98k was then told that that i could take it for a little over £83.5K not quite the right time for me ideally but could be !!!! ;)
Should I pull his arm off or are these deals out there anyhows ??
Cheers

I am not sure, to be honest. It really depends if you need it brand new. I suspect you could get a very nice one, second hand, which would have a similar spec and low miles (perhaps a different colour though) for a much better deal. However buying these cars has nothing to do with logic - it is all emotional, and what you can live with and stretch to. I don't think there is a right or wrong answer. I think it really depends on your own preferences, and how far you want to stretch. One thing about buying from an Aston dealer is that you know what you are getting and the customer service that comes with it. Buying second hand, means you have a super nice car, and hopefully some money left over in your back pocket. Whichever way you go, you will probably end up a very happy man!
What size engine? And what's the exact spec?
Do a proper comparison of what's out there before jumping in, but it could be a good deal.
FWIW I did something similar in March 2007 (obviously different specs). After comparing properly, bought the car. Still have it, no regrets. Ultimately you're the only one who will know if the price is right for you

Same here, was looking at ordering a MY10 early in the new year but seen a number of MY09 unregistered Roadsters at one of the Aston Dealers down South for £83,495 some with sports pack included.
Rang my local AM dealer and now deposit down on a fully loaded MY09 roadster for similar money.
Cars were all manufactured in July/Aug 08 but are full MY09 spec.
Now how do I tell the other half that there will be a AM sitting in the garage in less than a week........
Edited to add there is an AM price rise coming up at 4+% and an additional 2.5% VAT so made the decision now as MY10 mods are very subtle apart from the options list to add N400 bits etc.

Do not know where they have been stored but the VIN only gives the MY number, the date stamp on the tyres will always give away the closest date to manufacture as most car manufacturers only keep a a week's worth of tyres in stock.
So for a date stamp of 3308 on the tyre wall means that the tyres were manufactured in week 33 in 2008 (w/c 9/8/2008), car was probably manufactured a few weeks from this date.
Also worth noting when you are buying new tyres, old stock or new stock.
