Of the 2 tracker fobs I'e got for my 2008 AMV8, one doesnt work and the other doesnt work from time to time (I think) - as when its not working the PATS light stays on for about 60 seconds when I start the car. I was told by AM Brentwood (Essex) that the Tracker Fobs cannot be replaced because they need to pair them and the Tracker service has expired (needs to be current for them to pair the new fobs?). Cant believe I am the only guy with no Tracker Service and worn out Tracker fobs - or do you not worry about the PATS light?

The system you have is AM Tracking (from Eurowatch) rather that Tracker.

The fobs are notoriously unreliable!

I had my car paired to my mobile via BT, which requires Eurowatch will talk you through, but you'll need a subscription.

Thanks - looks like I'll have to put up with the PATS light staying on from time to time!

If you're feeling like a bit of DIY you could crack open the failed one and try replacing the 4 batteries which take up most of the space in there. Nothing to lose if you like to tinker.

I opened my failed fob but didn't do the battery replacement as I got new ones under warranty.

Thanks for that - haven't had a good look but they did not look (at a glance) like you could open them!

I don't think they're designed to be opened but "subtle" application of a sharp fruit knife around the edge seemed to do the trick wink

There's a new version of the tag if you have issues. Take both of the old ones with the car to a dealer and they should be able to set you up (May have to pre-order the tags first). The bluetooth connection via the phone does work a treat though. You have to speak to Eurowatch to set it up and they'll need to now your phones 'bluetooth name' including all spaces, lower and higher case letters etc.

How do you know if you have the upgraded tags as I am near to buying a 2009 roadster (ready for the Indian Summer) in the next two weeks.

But I dont have (or particularly want) a Eurowatch subscription - just would like the PATS light to stay off!

The tags have a date on them but with a 2009 car you'll surely get the new ones. My new ones say 2009.

The part number starts with 9G43 if it's a new one.
