Ive had an epiphany over my DB9, mainly brought on after a drive of a late 08 car that was just as rattly as mine !!! as such I wont be bailing out of my superb value motor (only car I have ever had worth more than I paid for it) and will spend a small amount of cash to make it stand out a little.

Im thinking Sport pack wheels and red calipers (car is blue)

Are the sportpack alloys 19" (as I have new tyres I dont want to upgrade)

Are the red calipers all hooker red or is there an OEM choice

I guess I can ebay the std wheels and calipers and get some funds back, it has the nicer DB9 std alloys with the flatter 10 spokes.

Hi Mike
Yes I think so, I "was" about to spend £30k plus on swapping the CLS55 for an RS6 but have shelved that due to the RS6 looking a money loss pit (I will wait for a nice 12 month old one that has lost £30k) and after deciding to keep the DB9 I thought that would make it a really special one, sportpack wheels and red calipers with the blue paint and cream leather will make an unusual and nice classy Aston.

Im still unsure if the sportpack wheels are 19" (anyone?) as its a none starter if i need to change rubber but I guess the 4 year service, wheels, calipers and possibly a sports exhaust will be £5k ish and i will have the old wheels and calipers to ebay as well.

All I need to do now is work out how to make the Lo Fi into Hi Fi without the WORKS quoted £4k being spent (FFS!)

Thanks - wheels are a deffo and the hooker red calipers are a pity but the nice wide spoked alloys demand them (I think)

my calipers are hooker red but on a black car.might look a bit weird on a blue car.i bought my car from stock but i understood you could match bodywork to caliper colour

There are four standard colours available for the caliper's red silver grey and black, it is possible to get the original caliper's repainted, but a good quality heat resistant paint is required plus removal of the old paint as if paint is put over the top, the tolerances for where the pads fit is reduced and could cause them to be tight in the enclosure,

Thanks for the input guys - hooker red on midnight blue may look a bit odd BUT I noticed a 911 with the same combo (the red was a bit classier than the Aston red) and it looked nice

Dave - I hope that when you had your epiphany over the DB9 it did not damage the paintwork....

Would like to see some pics of the new tart calipers on the car. Toying with the idea of putting lipstick red ones onto my Titanium V8V (along with a Larini can....).

Are the calipers any different or just a different colour? If it's just the colour why not have them profesionally painted/powdercoated to a colour of your choice - or even 'hooker red' if you want to keep the OEM look. Surely this is a more cost effective option and it gives you a bit of flexibility over the final look/finish of them.

Its a point but car would be off road for ages and the process is a PITA, I will get it done and flog the old ones which are in grey with white writing.

Blue car and red calipers looks good. I had a cobalt blue 997 with red calipers and it looked great.

Game on!
