Yep, you've had it now. The DBS priced at 120k-ish is certainly worth the differential over the V8. I've been in one for 12 months now and everyday it still amazes me, it really is a masterpiece.

You won't regret it.

From a performance perspective, i didnt find a huge difference to be honest, perhaps slightly in acceleration but not by much (figures speak for themselves). Inside the cabin, the DBS feels a little bigger (not that the Vantage is small) but other than a bit of carbon here and there, again no great difference, the 4.7 is almost identical inside. The big difference for me was gearbox and general comfort. The 4.7 with sports pack is quite a stiff ride, you feel the bumps and with that, very positive feedback. The DBS seems to give you the same feel but in a much softer way, even when stiffened up. Definately a better GT.

On a positive note for the vantage, its considerably cheaper, the boot is definately bigger (important when taking my missus away) and with baffles fixed open it sounds better in my personal opinion. I would also say that my Vantage feels more like a out and out sports car, I'd be interested to see a comparison of a 4.7 with sports pack and DBS around the same track. There is always the V12 to play with too!

Tough to justify the extra spend...

The V12 is more of a sports car where the DBS is a superb grand tourer. It has a longer wheelbase which gives it a more complacent ride. The V12 feels tighter and more responsive. In terms of cabin, the V12 offers the (tall) driver more space and is probably more practical with the hatchback. The DBS has the 2+2 option but the rear seats are faily useless because even if your kids manage to get their legs in there their head will hit the rooflining - so far from ideal. I found the dampening on the V12 surprisingly good and the ride not too hard. Much better than on my DB9 which really did not like to go over potholes or badly surfaced roads. After my V12 testdrive I slipped back into my 997 turbo and it felt almost pedestrian (until the turbos kick in) and even the ride felt "softer".
