If you had a 2006 DB9 like me ( manual convertible ) and you wanted to improve it what upgrades would you spend money on - say £10k max ? I am thinking seats which are not comfortable but what about engine upgrades ,wheels, mirrors exhausts . Rick if you do this stuff what are the most popular upgrades ?

Curious...

What in particular do you find uncomfortable about the seats? I think they look a lot better than the MY07 seats, and in fact that was one reason I chose an 06 instead of an 07 (bunch of other reasons besides).

Are you thinking of having them reconfigured in some way or just swapping them out with 07 seats?

unfortunately as yours is a volante the sports pack is out of the question, my choice would be sports pack wheels, with titanium wheel nuts, sports back box, this would give around a 20kg weight saving, then a ecu remap which would improve throttle control, hp and torque, and strangely whilst cruising there is an improvement in mpg, and finally if auto remap the transmission ecu as well,

we did all of the above last week on a DB9 but being a coupe we fitted the complete sports pack, the gentleman had change out of £8500, as this was an early 9 it had the modified steering rack, steering ecu and modified undertrays, the change was amazing, and the customer over the moon,

the back box alone sounded great, like having fuse 22 out all the time a bit louder and a bit deeper, but when cruising no drone, the soundclip is on youtube but does not really do it justice,

I must admit upgrades are becoming a major part of our business, from the clear rear lights, the side skirts for the V8, wheels, full suspension set ups are popular i know it's not an upgrade but when they are done properly it makes a big improvement to handling, sports cats are down to personal preference, but i find them a bit to loud for day to day driving,

What sport exhaust was fitted? Just wondering... there seems to be a ton of talk about quicksilver vs larini etc, and sport cats vs oem.... etc

Very happy with the look of the seats but they are not comfortable on a long journey . On another thread I was asking about the DBS seats which look great. However apparantly there are two types and I am not sure which ones I sat in.I agree the 07 DB9 seats look a bit ' American 'although they are probably more comfortable.
Thanks Rick for the list - looks like I'm pretty limited with the volante . Gave it a good wash yesterday and it looks so good I can wait until I see something I really like the look of. It's never going to handle like a porsche but the only real criticsm I have of it is the poor damping but you get used to it . Have not pulled the fuse yet so I might start with that.Do you know if DBS seats will fit ?
