If you forgot resale value and depreciation is there a favourite colour from any make of vehicle (including AM) that you would choose for a new AM (V12V ?). Avoid being chavvy but being bold knowing that others would admire/enjoy it but would avoid buying just in case thay wouldn't recoup their money. I am bored with dealers advising me to play safe and want to choose a keeper without being foolish about my choice. Black, Silver and Dark Blue are out of the equation.

Friend has the Orange colour on a V8 Vantage (Burnt orange?) looks suprisingly nice!

Personally I dont give a flying **** about resale, just get what I want!

Saying that mine is safe Tungsten but that is the colour I wanted.

I would probably go with something similar to the aubergine type colour on the DBS Volante elsewhere, or perhaps white on the V12V to contrast against the carbon details (despite these not being my favourite, I think contrasting them rather than hiding them might prove best).

Another alternative would be Ferrari's Rosso Fiorano.

Is the Orange the colour on the N400 - If so I understand that AM want to keep it unique to that car.

I was at the factory on Tuesday, and the most outlandish colour I saw was the V12 Vantage in a genuine gold colour. It was awful!! I am definitely going to go for one in Quantum Silver - having seen it - I think it is awesome. I know this is all about personal opinion, but I happen to think the vents on the bonnet need to blend in - not stand out. More subtle that way. Having been followed by a V12 Vantage on the road, and seeing it pass by several times, I have also warmed to the Hammerhead Silver launch colour.

Oh, and other colours that I have seen which I think look nice are ... Hardly Green, Racing Green, and Ghillies Green. All three Astons that I have seen this in look a bit special. However you have to be careful with Greens, if you really are bothered about resell value. Or so I keep getting told. If you Google these colours with the word Aston Martin you can see pictures of them on different sites.

I have specced Hammerhead because the carbon blades on the bonnet blend in well with a darker color. I saw a couple of white ones in the factory which I thought looked good on the V12 but not on the larger DB9 or DBS. My DB9 was Tungsten and it sold in a couple of hours after being posted (to cheaply I hasten to say).

In general, the darker colors suffer from stone chipping because the primer is light grey/brown but I guess that is something one has to live with.

My V12V would have been Lambo Balloon White, if the wife had approved the purchase, I do love my Almond Green V8 Colour tho and get lots and lots of comments from all types of peeps, Aston aficionado's to ladies that work in my local tesco express..not sure it would suit a V12V...the blingness of it requires a bling colour IMO. Totally agree, buy what YOU like and not for resale...there are too many 'safe' colours out there...

Hmm, I saw a green DB9 with an orange dash and seats last week. It was nasty.

My first V8V was in Toro red - that was a real head-turner. My latest one is in titanium; bought because I liked it and nothing to do with the resale value. My DB7 was in racing green and looked the dogs danglies. I think that when my Cygnet arrives (!) I will spec that in racing green.....

Interesting OceanTools - did you have any issue with resell value on the Racing Green DB7. Because I have to say I think it looks fantastic and would want to have one, but keep getting advised otherwise.

I had no problem shifting the green DB7 - but that's because I did a part-ex against my first V8V.

I reckon Aston's look gorgeous in (racing) green and would not hesitate to have another one. Go on - be brave!

Racing green is growing on me. Looking for a head turning colour without bling (gold doesn't seem to quite do it some how - who is going to volunteer that they have ordered that one ?)

Off topic but ... is it a coupe or roadster? Could I ask as to the general part of the country? I'm interested only as a fellow "orange" owner smile They somewhat rare!

On topic - first car was Toro Red and (as mentioned by an earlier poster) it was a real headturner of a colour. The greys and silvers just got ignored in comparison!

For a V12V I'd be tempted by the special "blood" red (not sure of the name) or Hammerhead which is on the demonstrator in Derby ...
