V8 Vantage 08 model (Gear Knob)

Has anybody attempted to replace the gear knob in their AM?

Unlikely I know, but would be interested to learn how it attaches. I have not lifted the gator at this stage, however would like to replace the standard gear knob with an aluminium version.

Push down on gear knob, turn anti-clockwise through 45 degrees and pull up. However you will need to remove the surround at the same time. To do this remove the aluminium trim running behind the seats, then lift up at the back and remove the armrest. remove the 2 screws at the back of the gear surround/ashtray trim and lift up and back, disconnecting the harness as you go. Easy!!
