My DB9 is being seviced today and have just been advised that it has a problem that will require about the £3000 spending on it........knowing main dealers its probably a broken HT lead or somthing....but I am so happy having the extended warranty smilesmilesmilesmile

But how much did the warranty extension cost for 1 year - and how much will it be next year - bet there isn't much in it at £3k for 2 yearsconfused

The warranty cost the previous owner lots of money and I believe when it runs out in September 2010 it will cost me £1200. The point is about warranty is that you can enjoy your car. You dont worry every time you give it some serious wellie its going to go bang and you don't listen out for every new noise wondering if its going to cost you £3000. Its part of the cost of owning and enjoying an Aston thats older than 3 years.

The problem is a small oil leak at the top end........warranty engineer coming out Monday to inspect but the repair has already been agreed in principle

Mike mine hit 3 in June and I extended the warranty, I could have gone none AM for £700 but decided i didnt want the hassle if anything went. Glad your sorted of topic I just had to renew the insurance on the CLS and the DB9 CLS was £720 and DB9 £850 what are you paying on your Aston (as we live in similar areas)

Hi Dave.....yep paying about the same...was paying about £750 on the SL55 and paying £850 with Admiral on the DB9......and yes very happy to have purchased a car with warranty, as Ive only had the car for 10 weeks I would have been a little pis***d off to have to cough up 4k for a service and repair !

So what are they actually going to do to the car? From your point of view now I presume you want to get as much work done as possible to the highest possible standard, so I take it you are taking a close supervisory interest.

I heard that some dealers are claiming as much warranty work as they can at the moment. Not good money for them, but it at least keeps their chaps occupied.

I'm sure thats true, but in my cars case, an warranty enginner inspected the problem on Monday......also the dealer seemed to be very busy

Mike I think I spotted your grey DB9 ***MG on the ramps at Strats yesterday - had a lot of engine next to it smile

Strats get a quick round of applause for getting the leather roof cover trim replaced and refitted quickly and without quibble after the hydro ram sensors dug into it.
