Hi all - mate of mine is looking at getting a DB9 (going from a 996 Turbo). Any ideas please on typical servicing costs? Does about 4000 miles a year and looking at a car with 20K on the clock.

Thanks in advance

Rick - any good independent specialists in North West England for 2nd DB9 service or am I torn between Wilmslow and Leeds?

Michael thanks for the info - Brooklands in Leeds are actually offering me a substantially lower price than Wilmslow for the same service, including the collection service. Despite previous comments on the forums, Wilmslow are not in the slightest interested in requoting - must depend on who you get and what mood they are in. Shame really, as I bought my car there and their intransigence has introduced me to another dealership for future purchases.

Thanks for the offer Michael - If I hit a brick wall I shall certainly be in touch.

I know someone who got a good deal when they phoned Wilmslow (didn't say exactly how much but I'll ask next time I see him). He said they were pretty flexible when it came to costs. Spoke to Keith I believe. Might be worth asking for him instead in the future.

Harsh!, ask for help/thoughts and get a 'couldn't care less response'!

I read it to mean 'their loss as I went with Rick and passed my time shopping in Derby'

Wow! I've been quoted by the Sunday Times and the Which? Magazine, but never by a member of PistonHeads - THANK YOU BOTH.

Apologies if I came across a bit harsh, it certainly wasn't intended that way and I do appreciate the feedback. Indeed, without Michael's comments I would not have been aware of the Derby route.

I had been aware of Kieth at Wilmslow for several months but I'm of the opinion that to justify the exhorbitant prices charged by AM dealers, everyone should be able to negotiate from the same hymn sheet rather than being left to one person who cannot always be contacted.

Kieth is certainly a top bloke, but without him the consensus seems to be "take it or leave it".

So I left it.

Just back from DMS and very impressed.

Despite being on the forum at 11.04 giving Good Soil Pete some advice smile, Rick has performed a perfect job on my DB9. He has even taken out Fuse 22 for me and given me endless hints and tips.

Kay took my wife and I into Derby and we had a thoroughly enjoyable shopping experience.

Yes, it was excellent value at £585 + Vat (2nd service).

Yes Rick and Kay are wonderfully hospitable people.

Yes they will be on hols soon (enjoy but how will we cope?).

Yes my gorgeous wife spent every penny I saved on clothes.
