Top Gear has sealed my car's fate!!!
Discussion
I've decided to keep my V8 vanatge thanks to the advice of all you forum members and Clarkson's little piece on the last episode. Okay, it may not be a V12 or even the 4.7 vantage, but it is mine. I worked long and hard for it and have cherished it ever since it was delivered to my care.
I just can't bearto let it go yet. I am surprised I've become so sentimental about a mere motor.... Maybe its an Aston thing.....

Congrats Stanwan...welcome to the 'that car's a keeper' club. Mine has managed to stay through two babies now!
That TG ending was fantastic, did capture for me what owning a car like this is all about. No comments on good and bads for the masses to form their opinion, no 0-60 times...just a demonstration of what owning and driving a car like this is all about. For anyone who did not see it:

Personally the strength and growth of things like PH and the Supercar Sunday at Goodwood proves it is not at an end..there will always be 'the supercar'...maybe..

Thought Top Gear spoilt the ending with the bloody music.
If they wanted the fantastic shots of the car driving down empty roads why didn't they jsut take Fuse 22 out and let us listen to the soundtrack of the car.
Only last 5 seconds or so had the engine / exhaust sound all to itself
Still not convinced by a bonnet full of vents

I thought this ending to this series of TG was a good one. Poignant. (though hopefully, all sports cars won't be legislated off the road in my active driving lifetime)>
I enjoyed the (relatively quiet, chilled) music over the gorgeous cacophany that was the V12.
As other's have said, stunning road/scenary.
I'd want to fill those vents in the bonnet

I agree with others. Thought it was a fantastic way to end the series. Very moving and I felt that JC's lack of speaking about the car really spoke volumes about just how good it is!!
I saw the V12V in Lancaster in Cambridge at the weekend. In white it is breathtakingly beautiful.
I think the vents are fantastic!

I have never kept a car for more than 1 year (so I have never had to put a car through a service).
Well my V8 Vantage has gone in today for its 3 year, 30k mile service and warranty extension, testimant to the time I am having with my V8V, first car I ever kept long enough to be ripped off by a stealer, lets just hope the bill doesn't make me cry!

Agreed great ending to TG - for once. Nearly made me think twice about passing on my V12V option. Then I realised that ALL these cars we talk about and love, be they Astons/Porsches/Fezzas/Whatever are truly wonderful. Who cares about the last tenth sec off the 0-60 time etc., etc., etc., it's about heart and soul and that clip could have featured any car - as long as it's the one that does it for you that's all that matters. ENJOY.

Did you drive it? Thoughts? I am due a trip up the A1, A505, A10 shortly and I'd love to get some thoughts on the V12V....About four pages back is a thread titled 'V12V Driven' (funnily enough!) where I gave my impressions from driving the car - both on road and track. Doesn't compare with the pro journo write ups in the car mags but hope it helps anyway!
Watched the clip again for the tenth time. Mine may be a V8, but really made me want to run out and just make sure I really had one. Sometimes its easy to take things for granted. I love this car soo much and feel privileged to own one.
Sorry, sentimental girly stuff, but I do believe time will tell that this is a special car.

I thought it was a rubbish ending tbh. Waste of time. Not enough about the car and just smacked of a lack of imagination.
Darker colours suit the V12V better too IMO.
I suspect "the end" for cars like this will be the reasons why people like Pugs have opted out. Too big a cost to change when you consider everything else that's out there, and on today's roads it's unlikely to be that much of a leap over the V8 in this context.
