My car has the "Delete Passenger Seat Height Adjust" option specified. This
seems to be to allow the fitting of ISOFIX child seats to the passenger side,
and removes the seat height (and therefore tilt) adjustment.

Some people however, cannot get comfortable in the passenger seat (the
driver’s seat causes no problems), and even find it painful. This seems to be
caused by the lack of tilt adjustment which, because the seat is fitted
low to the floor, makes the angle between the hips and thighs uncomfortable.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Ideally I'd like to be able to retrospectively remove this option and have
passenger seat height adjustment. I'm guessing that the seat motors are missing
and the switch would need to be changed, but I expect it would be a LOT more
complicated than that and stupidly expensive. Some people have apparently
tried wedge cushions, which provide some relief, but are not ideal. Advice or
comments from anyone who happens to be a physiotherapist or ergonomic
specialist? :-)

Unfortunately my wife's enthusiasm for the car is not helped by crippling
her in pain whenever we go more than 10 miles from home.

Have a chat with Rick (rick-derby)...he'll know if you can retro-fit (don't think you can).

Have you had the car long? If not, was it from a dealer? Could you exchange it? Sounds severe, but you'll be getting rid soon enough if the other half hates it!

The passenger seat on my Vantage doesn't have a height adjustment either but I see no option deleting it. Perhaps US equipped cars have no choice.

From what I understand, this option has changed a bit over the model years and in different territories.

In the UK, from launch, I believe there was not a height adjustable passenger seat . From Feb 06, Front passenger seat isofix location point was a no cost option and Height adjustable passenger seat was a £195 option. Then I think from Aug 07 (MY 08), this was swapped around, so height adjustable passenger seat was standard and front passenger seat isofix was an option (which deleted the height adjustable passenger seat).

In any case, replacing the front seat might be cheaper than trading the car in for another one! frown We’ve only had the car for 3 months, and in all other respects, it’s pretty near perfect.
