Is my clutch about to go?
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I would welcome any guidance.
I have an 08 Vantage with about 6.5k on the clock - The car used to be an ex-Aston press car.
I'm getting a vibrating shudder (the sound is more prevalent than the psychical vibration) from under the car which happens a few times each journey when driving at low speed (i.e. 1st and 2nd gear) although I notice it more after 1 second or so after changing gear.
The clutch isn't feeling any more stiff (or even lighter) than usual and there is no noxious burning smell.
It's not happening constantly but am I being an old woman or do I need to get it in for a check sharpish?
Cheers, Richard

in the first place even though i have changed clutches at this mileage it is unusual and usually slips and not vibrate, it could just be a build up of dust between the flywheel and friction plate, if the car is put on a ramp there is a small plate which can be removed, with someone inside the car with there foot on the clutch, the dust etc can be blown out, all relevant health and safety considerations must be followed, are there any other symptoms or when does it happen, such as pulling out of junctions, uphill, wet days, engine cold or hot, have you had any repairs to transmission, driveline or brakes which may be relevant,
i would suspect incorrect adjustment of the handbrake probably over adjusted or even a sticking/binding caliper or cable, as your car will still be under warranty have a word with your dealer i suspect it is not to serious and should be rectified free of charge,
I tend to find that in comparison to other makes and models leaving the handbrake adjustment to five or six clicks rather than three helps with noises from the rear brakes under cornering, and less wear on the handbrake pads,
