Hockenheim circuit: my neighbours AM V8V 4.7 vs a Scud
Discussion
Very nice. To be honest it didnt seem like either driver was pushing their cars that hard at certain points... but still pretty neat. You just need to get your DBS out there into the fun.....
Impressive that the V8V stayed with the scud in the twisty stuff but then wasnt able to keep up in the straights.

Yes, the Scud should have EATEN the V8V - brakes, grip, acceleration, top speed - everywhere.
However I sometimes think the V8 in it's latest guise is a wee bit better than we give it credit for. Spent the day at Donnington yesterday trying the new V12V. Also drove a standard, sportshift V8 (completely standard with road tyres) and apart from on the longer straight it had the measure of DB9s and DBSs. The V12V was the quickest car there but likes smooth precise - quickest way round - pure inputs, whereas the V8 goes quickest by being hustled - it eats kerbs whereas the V12V was best kept off them. I'd say the V8 was more of a laugh but the V12V obviously quicker and more track biased (NOT a trackday type car like a GT3 though IMO). Scud quicker again than either though.
PS. Oops - good vid Angel btw!

And what was your verdict on the V12?However I sometimes think the V8 in it's latest guise is a wee bit better than we give it credit for. Spent the day at Donnington yesterday trying the new V12V. we will turn back to Hockenheim on August 4th with 60 different cars - we just rented the circuit for a day - i want to see what the DBS will look like there - btw we all agreed that if you want to have a cheap reliable track car - we should buy a second hand Cayman S ... i am getting my coat now
PS: Pugs update us on the V12V dammit
Btw i forgot to mention that my neighbours V8V was driven by his wife a Ex-Porsche Cup driver....

Hi Angel
first off thanks for the nice video clip! SaweeeeT
I have always admired the Astons since the Vanquish came out and I had the privelege of getting a drive in one recently... WoW !!! BTW: Congrats on your DBS too
To the performance of the Scud vs. AM V8V, sure the Scud should have sudded the Vant but it is my experience that not everyone who has a fast car knows how to drive it. It´s all a matter of how long the driver has owned the car & if they´re getting used to it, still driving along with it is very nice and your neighbor had a passenger which the scud driver did not as far as I can see
I see German plates from Stuttgart on the white V8. Does that mean he or you both are at home in Stuttgart ?
I live in Switzerland right now but come from the area Pforzheim and would like to know ( if time permits it )if I could come by on the 4th of Aug. to the HHR and take a look, mabye make some clips too?
What time will you all be there ? Morning or evening ?
If so please do give me line @ my gmx.net address. I would be very greatful
Thanks again
