Hi Guys

Can someone explain to me what I should or should be seeing/getting with the bluetooth in my AMV8? I have a Nokia 8600 Luna.

1. Should I be able to see my phone book on the screen somewhere?
2. I do get phone 1 connected when I get in
3. My phone is also bluetoothed ok for the trcker and that works
4. Do I have to add my phone book manually?

Not all features are available with all phones.

I don't believe you'll see numbers on the display with any phone.

I think with some phones you can sync your phonebook with the car's phonebook (can't with an iPhone or Blackberry Pearl).

You can also put numbers into the car's memory manually (I think it's limited to 20 numbers). You can then use these to voice dial (I think with all phones).

And on phones that have voice dialling, you can use this with some phones (e.g. the Blackberry Pearl worked quite well).

The manual steps through this I think.

Bluetooth support on the car is the third worst feature on my 07 car (after the stanav and the lack of ipod connectivity).

My Samsung u900 is fine (MY08) except if I try to access the phone book it says "Please wait..." on the display. Luckily I can go thru the last 10 dialled numbers and the car shows "#1 name number" for each one (and they almost always have my kids, partner, home etc) in the list.

I'm too tight to pay 600 quid to add it to my 07 smile

And if/when I chop the car in it'll be for something different so a later V8 is unlikely to happen.

Still, at least the electronic guru at Aston resisted putting a tape player in the car!
